I started cutting hair at 19 years old, right here in this very shop. Back then it was called Image International, and we served both men and women. I spent the next few years sharpening my skills across different barbershops before working at my mother’s salon in Lehigh, Dutches Beauty Salon. My mother, Mae Young, ran that shop for 30 years, and her work ethic and dedication shaped the way I approach the craft today.

In time, I found my way back to the place where it all began. Six years ago, I bought the shop and renamed it Country Cuts Barbershop. The name speaks to who we are and the people we serve. Buckingham is a unique corner of Lee County and we want our shop to reflect the pride and character of this community. Country Cuts stands for simple, friendly, local, and loyal. We do more than cut hair. We build relationships and a community around us.

What started with two barbers has grown into a full team of eight, and we stay busy year-round. We are also expanding next door with a women’s salon called Country Curls, offering a full range of services. The opening date will be announced soon.
